“Not even our father knows who is who,” say twin models at Fashion Rio
Susan and Suzane Massena, 17, who strutted on the catwalk for Oestúdio, are only invited to work together
The twins Suzana and Suzane Massena, 17, modeled for designer Oestúdio, on Friday the 19th at the Fashion Rio show. From the northeastern state of Bahia, they said that even their family gets confused which of them is which. “Not even our father knows who is who. We wear a necklace with our names (on them) to help,” said the models in Oestúdio’s backstage.
The two, who participated in the first week of Fashion Rio, even today are only invited to work together. “Because of this, the more we look alike, the better,” said Suzanne, who wears the same haircut as her sister.
After having attended a photo shoot for the February issue of Vogue Brasil, the twins decided to move to São Paulo. The beauties are being courted by two major modeling agencies. At the time, they were only waiting to finish their high school courses before they moved. Their mother, Maria, who works as a security guard in Salvador, planned to accompany the girls. “We have a dream of walking in the São Paulo Fashion Week and Fashion Rio,” said Susan at the time. The sisters were already high demand. “We have to organize an agenda, because there’s no time to do everything,” she said. “We need to reject some calls.”
It appears that their dreams have come true as they participated in Fashion Rio and also São Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW). This blog first featured photos of the twins when they participated in the SPFW’s tribute to the American music TV program Soul Train a few months ago. The Massena twins are the second pair of twins featured here on the BW of Brazil blog, the first being the duo from the nation’s capital city, Brasília, Karen Maria Ferreira Flores and Karina Eugênia Ferreira Flores. Be sure to keep your eyes on Suzana and Suzane Massena, for even in a modeling world that continues to prefer white bodies to model its designs, these cuties are sure to be making some noise in the coming years.
